About
“Founded on the Word of God and centred on the Gospel of Jesus Christ our mission is to build up God’s people in truth, in prayer and in fellowship, so that we can better reach the lost in our own community and across the world”.
Knock Evangelical Presbyterian Church are part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Northern Ireland.
Our beliefs are summarised in the EPC Statement of Faith, which outlines the core convictions of the Reformed Evangelical Christian faith.
The EPC Code sets out the Church's constitution, doctrinal standards, governance structures, ministerial regulations, congregational procedures and disciplinary framework. At its foundation are the Church's convictions regarding the authority of Christ, the authority of Scripture and the role of the Westminster Standards:
- The Lord Jesus Christ is the only King and Head of the Church and He has revealed in His Word that He has appointed offices, ordained orderly government, instituted ordinances of worship and enacted principles and laws of fellowship in His Church
- The Word of God as set forth in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments is the only infallible rule of faith and practice, and the supreme standard of the Church.
- The subordinate standards of our Church are the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms; we believe these subordinate standards, as amended [in three places detailed in the EPC Code], accurately summarise, interpret and apply the teaching of the Scriptures on important points of doctrine and worship.
Knock EPC are served by one Teaching Elder, our minister, Rev. Robert Johnston; two Ruling Elders, Wallace and Paul; and four Deacons, David, Peter, Norman, and Timothy.
We are committed to providing a safe environment for all. Our Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (POCVA) Policy outlines the safeguarding measures adopted by both the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and Knock EPC.
